Download and install Freemake Video Converter free from official homepage. Note that the latest full version of the software works only on Windows OS (10, 8, 7, Vista), so don’t try to install it on your Mac. A portable version is not available either.

Add MP4 files

Click “+Video” after launching free MP4 to DVD converter. Select all the files you want to copy to DVD. You may also simply drag and drop your MP4s into the software main window.

Choose “to DVD”

Select “to DVD” on the formats bar shown in the image. In case you are going to burn discs regularly, you may add this output option to your Favorites by clicking the star sign above it.

Set burning parameters

Change burning parameters if necessary. In a new window, you are to check out the project. You are able to choose:

  • Menu type (text, image or custom background);
  • Volume: Standard 4.7GB, Mini 1.4GB, Double Layer 8.5GB;
  • Aspect ratio: 16:9 or 4:3;
  • Encoding system: PAL or NTSC;
  • Audio codec: AC3 or MP2.

  • The video codec used for all conversions to DVD is MPEG2, you can’t modify it. Please keep in mind that this format due to its nature doesn’t support high definition resolution such as 720p, 1080p or 4K. We recommend you using the default settings.

    Hit "Burn" to make a disc from MP4 files once you’re ready. Put a blank DVD-R or RW (or other disc types) into your DVD-ROM drive and choose it as a destination beforehand. Please note that you can’t put your media on a CD.
    The process will take some time depending on your drive model and the resulted video duration. When the process finishes, the app will offer you to make one more copy of the project. Accept the offer, if necessary.
